The focus at Comfort Air is for complete customer satisfaction on every job. This means that we believe in offering only the best. Comfort Air features HVAC products from leading manufacturers like that will give our customers the performance and reliability we would require for our own homes. See below for information about the different HVAC products we offer customers in Palm Springs and the surrounding areas.

Air Conditioner
HVAC systems typically have an indoor and outdoor unit that work together which is called a split system. An air conditioner is an outdoor unit, and it sends cooled air to the indoor unit for circulation through the ductwork in your home. When both the outdoor and indoor unit are properly matched, you achieve maximum efficiency and longer system life. Air conditioning and cooling efficiency is measured using a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). A higher SEER means higher energy efficiency.
Heat Pump
A heat pump is an electric unit that is able to both heat and cool your home. Heat pumps work in a split system design (replacing the AC unit) to keep your home comfortable year round. For climates where winter temperatures stay around 40 degrees, a heat pump can be more efficient than a gas furnace (depending on local energy costs). Heat pumps can also be used with a furnace to create a hybrid system where the heat pump and furnace automatically switch depending on required heating capacity to allow for a higher level of efficiency. Efficiency levels are measured in Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) for cooling and Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) for heating.
Furnace
A furnace is the indoor unit of a split system configuration. Furnaces come typically as gas, electric or oil powered and provide warm air for the home. Furnace heating ability is measured with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) percentage. A higher AFUE percentage indicates a more efficient furnace.
Indoor Air Quality
Indoor comfort control is more than just temperature control - it means creating a healthy home environment by purifying your indoor air. Did you know that the EPA considers indoor air quality a major health concern? Comfort Air offers indoor air quality products that integrate into your HVAC system. Packaged System
In a packaged system, all equipment is built into an outdoor unit and often located on the roof. The "package" that gives the name provides central air conditioning during the summer and heating during the colder months. A primary advantage of packaged systems is a single footprint which is ideal for homes with space constraints that do not allow for a traditional split system. The efficiency of packaged systems is rated using SEER (for cooling efficiency), AFUE (for gas heating efficiency) and HSPF (for heat pump efficiency). Ductwork is required to transfer the heated or cooled air throughout the home as it is with a normal split system.
Thermostats & Controls
Thermostats are the control system for your heating and air conditioning equipment. Thermostats can provide information on what the equipment is doing, when it needs to be serviced and allow you to set the exact temperature and humidity you want to maintain in your home.

Programmable thermostats allow you to specify comfort control levels for the entire week while optional remote access controls allow you to adjust your HVAC system remotely via a telephone.

Evaporator Coil
The coil is an important part of any quality home heating or cooling system. As air is passed through the cooling system, the coil extracts or transfers heat from the indoor air, thus cooling the air before sending it back into the home via installed ductwork. The refrigerant then flows back to the compressor (a compressor controls the pressure applied to the refrigerant) where the cycle starts over again.
